THROUGH 300Z December 27, 2007

A fire was detected over southeast Starr County with a light smoke plume
moving south-southeast extending 40 miles into northern Mexico. Along
the Cameron/Hidalgo County border, a light smoke plume was observed
moving south-south east, and another light smoke plume was detected over
northeast Atascosa County moving southeast.  In addition, in northwest
Stonewall County, a light smoke plume was observed moving southeast from
the source.

California:
Blowing dust was observed moving east across the Southern Mojave Desert
near the San Bernardino mountains and nearly reaching the Arizona border
by sunset. Blowing dust was also seen moving south from eastern Santa
Barbara County moving over the Channel Islands in the Pacific Ocean.

Mexico:
Numerous fires were observed in northwest Sonora State, just south of
Yuma and Pima Counties in Arizona.  The smoke was mainly moving north
and some smoke from these fires has moved into southwest Yuma County.
