DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1515Z JUNE 12, 2008

North Carolina:
A 300 km-wide moderate to heavy smoke plume from the Evans Road fire with
some contribution from the South 1 fire extends to the east-southeast
over the Atlantic Ocean, and at its furthest extent, the plume is between
25-37 N out to 68 W from the east coast.

Colorado:
In Las Animas County, a small, light plume of smoke is fanning out and
extends to the north some 15 miles.

California:
In Santa Cruz County, a  light to moderately dense smoke plume is
currently moving to the south.  A second fire, 110 km to the south
in Monterey County, is also producing a moderately dense smoke plume.
This plume is moving to the south as well and extends into northern San
Luis Obispo County.
