California: In Monterey County, a moderately dense smoke plume is currently moving to th south over the Pacific Ocean and extends out 650km. The smoke plume, at 650 km out from the source, appears to bend towards the east towards the coastline around San Diego. Virginia/North Carolina: Along the border, in southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina, a moderately dense smoke plume extends 65 km to the south and east over Pasquotank and Camden Counties. Upper Midwest/Ohio Valley: A broad area of light smoke has wrapped around a low pressure system in eastern Canada. The extensive area of smoke is presumably from fires in Saskatchewan and Manitoba over the past several days, and is moving through Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, northern Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio.
