DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1530Z JUNE 23, 2008


Northern California:

In Trinity County, several fires are generating moderatelty dense to
dense smoke which is traveling to the northeast and moving into Shasta
and Tehama Counties. In the Iron complex, which is in Butte, Plumas
and Nevada Counties, moderately dense to dense smoke from these fires
is traveling over 1100km, with lighter smoke extending into southeast
Oregon, southern Idaho, northern Nevada, and extreme western Wyoming.


Mid/Southern California:

The Indians fire in Monterey County continues to generate large amounts
of moderatelty dense to dense smoke which has moved over 150km to
the southeast, and is paralleing the coastline, into San Luis Obispo
County.  The Clover fire in eastern Tulare county has continued producing
moderatelty dense to dense smoke which is fanning out to the east 750 km
out, reaching into southwestern Nye County, in Nevada, and southern Utah.
