DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1545Z JULY 1, 2008

Mid Atlantic Coast and New England Coast:
Some light/moderate smoke can be seen coming from the South 1 and Eavns
Road fires, however clouds are obscuring the areal extend of the smoke.

Arizona:
Moderate smoke coming from the from the Lane 2 fire continues with remnant
smoke covering much of Western/Southern Arizona, Southern California,
Southeast Nevada with very light smoke over much of Utah.

Western US:
Dense smoke continues to come out of the Piute fire on South Central
California extending northward through Central Nevada and into Southern
Idaho.  Clouds over Northern California partially obscuring fires, however
some light smoke can be seen coming from the exposed fires.  Light smoke
seen covering much of Oregon, Washington State, Idaho, and Montana.

Central Canada, Plain States and Great Lakes Region:
Dense smoke from the fires in northern Saskatchewan and northwest Manitoba
continues to move southward through South Ceentral Manitoba/Saskatchewan
towards the Central Plain states and Wester Great Lake region.  Remnant
smoke is seen covering much of the Northern Plains and Great Lakes region
with particularly dense area in Eastern Missouri into Western Illinios
through Southern Wisconson and into Northern Michigan.

A light area of smoke/haze over the Southern Plain states seen in early
morning visible imagery.
