DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

California/Western US: Some residual light smoke over the northern third of California, especially in the northwest corner of the state, and over western Oregon, is currently drifting to the north. A narrow plume of SO2 from the Kasatochi volcanic eruption last week is still meandering across western Washington State, southern Oregon, northern Nevada, Utah, and southern Colorado. Canada/Great Lakes Region: Residual light to pockets of moderately dense smoke is present over areas of northern Manitoba, Hudson Bay, Ontario, and extreme northern sections of the Great Lakes area – Michigan, Minnesota, and northern Wisconsin.
