Light smoke from agricultural fires in the vicinity of Lake Okeechobee was
drifting northwest across western Palm Beach and Hendry counties. Fires
in central Hardee and southwest Polk counties had plumes of light smoke

fires in north central and south central Collier county were producing
locally moderately dense smoke which was moving to the west and northwest
and fanning out, covering much of the western half of the county.

Bahamas:
A fire on the eastern end of Grand Bahama Island had a narrow plume of
light smoke that was moving to the south southwest.

Louisiana:
A fire in southern Vermillion parish near Pecan Island had a plume of

Mexico. Another fire on the southeast end of Point au Fer Island had a
plume of smoke that was also moving to the southeast into the Gulf.

Unless otherwise indicated:
  • Areas of smoke are analyzed using GOES-EAST and GOES-WEST Visible satellite imagery.
  • Only a general description of areas of smoke or significant smoke plumes will be analyzed.
  • A quantitative assessment of the density/amount of particulate or the vertical distribution is not included.
  • Widespread cloudiness may prevent the detection of smoke even from significant fires.
