DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Offshore of the Southeastern U.S. A swath of haze was visible in satellite imagery this morning stretching from the coastal regions of the Carolinas and Georgia offshore over the Atlantic. This area of haze may contain some remnant smoke from the fires burning inland over the Southeast during the past couple of days. The National Weather Service Air Quality and Smoke Forecast product at the following link also implies the possibility of leftover smoke in this region... http://www.nws.noaa.gov/aq/sectors/conus.php THE FORMAT OF THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS BEING MODIFIED. IT WILL NO LONGER DESCRIBE THE VARIOUS PLUMES THAT ARE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES.
