DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH
An area of haze begins in the Bay of Campeche and extends through the western region of the Gulf of Mexico. As the area extends north it curves to the east where it appears to reach the coasts of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and the panhandle of Florida. The total extent of the haze is obscured by cloud cover. The haze is moderately dense near the Bay of Campeche becoming lighter the further north it extends. This area is likely remnant smoke from the fires throughout Mexico, mainly the Yucatan Peninsula, and central America. -Salemi THE FORMAT OF THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS BEING MODIFIED.
