DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Yukon to South Central Canada and North Central and Central United States: A large area of moderately dense to locally very dense smoke that appeared to originate from wildfires over the Yukon and northern British Columbia extended from their sources southeast through much of Alberta and Saskatchewan and into southern Manitoba and then into the Dakotas, Minnesota, northern Wisconsin, northern Michigan and perhaps extended even further south into Iowa, northern Missouri, eastern Nebraska, and northwestern Illinois. Southern Alberta/Southern British Columbia/Northern Washington A large area of moderately dense smoke that originated from numerous wildfires near the vicinity of Calgary, covered a good portion of southwest Alberta along with most of southern British Columbia, northern Montana and northern Washington to very near the Seattle metro area.
