DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Alaska/Northwest Territories: Light to moderately dense smoke from the Alaskan wildfires are drifting to the east and northeast across the central and eastern region of the state. The smoke also extends into the Northwest Territories as well. West Texas: A band of dust or aerosol, roughly 300km long, is situated over the central region of the state and extends to the southwest to just north of the Big Bend. EVANS More information on the areas of smoke described above as well as others can be found at the locations listed below. THE FORMAT OF THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS BEING MODIFIED. IT WILL NO LONGER DESCRIBE THE VARIOUS PLUMES THAT ARE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES.
