DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Alaska/Territories: FROM EARLIER... Residual light smoke is still moving through central and eastern Alaska into the northern region of the Northwest Territories. Because of extensive cloud cover over the area, it is difficult to differentiate between clouds and smoke. Nonetheless, there is a good amount of at least lightly dense smoke over the areas described. Canada: In northern British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan, possible light smoke and aerosols are currently moving to the south. The possible light smoke would be due to the wildfires in Alaska. Washington/Oregon: Light haze and/or aerosols are situated over the region. RCE More information on the areas of smoke described above as well as others can be found at the locations listed below. THE FORMAT OF THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS BEING MODIFIED. IT WILL NO LONGER DESCRIBE THE VARIOUS PLUMES THAT ARE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES.
