DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1735Z August 23, 2009
Western Canada: Residual light smoke from last evening's fire is situated over southern Alberta and Saskatchewan at this time and is drifting to the east. Light to moderately dense smoke can also be found in southern BC due to wildfire activity. Canada (Quebec): A thin band of light smoke is situated just north of the cloud cover associated with Hurricane Bill. The 25km wide plume seems to be dissipating however. RCE More information on the areas of smoke described above as well as others can be found at the locations listed below. THE FORMAT OF THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS BEING MODIFIED. IT WILL NO LONGER DESCRIBE THE VARIOUS PLUMES THAT ARE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES.
