DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Great Lakes: Residual smoke from fires in BC over the last week along with hazy conditions can be seen very early in the morning at extreme sun angles from GOES-WEST over the Great Lakes states of MN, WI, MI, and IL. The smoke is very thin but is thickest in areas of midlevel convergence near cloud lines. SE Canada: Residual smoke from fires in BC over the last week is moving due east within a strong jet streak along the S Quebec coastline and Northern St. Lawrence Sea way to the northern tip of Newfoundland...this also covers much of Ile Anticosti and the Detroit de Jacques-Cartier. California/S Nevada: Output from the Station fire can be seen moving NE out to near Las Vegas and is thin up until the far NE edge where it is thin to moderately dense.
