DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

North Central US/Upper Mississippi River Valley: A pocket of thin lingering smoke from fires in BC and the NW US over the past week or so can be seen across N and C ND, E SD, S MN and N WI in advance of a very slow moving cold front from the prairie prov of Canada. An extension of the smoke can be seen extending south within anticyclonic flow across SE SD, NE NE and NW IA merging with main zone of smoke described above. IT WILL NO LONGER DESCRIBE THE VARIOUS PLUMES THAT ARE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES.
