DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1630Z September 23, 2009
Pacific Northwest/Southwest Canada: Large amounts of dense smoke are still emanating from the Tumblebug and Boze fires in west central Oregon and extends through British Columbia and into north central Alberta. Remnant smoke from the fires in British Columbia are also seen moving east over Alberta Province this morning. Southern California: Smoke from the Station fire in southern California extends west across the northern Channel Islands. Liddick More information on the areas of smoke described above as well as others can be found at the locations listed below. THE FORMAT OF THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS BEING MODIFIED. IT WILL NO LONGER DESCRIBE THE VARIOUS PLUMES THAT ARE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES.
