DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0100Z March 28, 2010
Southeast: Fires in Berkeley and Barnwell Counties in SC resulted in light to moderate smoke plumes which moved off to the west northwest. A fire on the Putnam, Jones, and Jasper County lines in GA also resulted in a detached cloud of moderately dense smoke that moved to the west northwest. Florida Panhandle/Alabama/Mississippi A dense cloud of smoke, originating from a fire in Okaloosa County, FL, was moving north into south central Alabama at sunset while a fire on the Forrest, Stone and Perry County lines of MS resulted in a cloud of light smoke that was moving north into central MS. THE FORMAT OF THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS BEING MODIFIED. IT WILL NO LONGER DESCRIBE THE VARIOUS PLUMES THAT ARE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES.
