DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1700Z April 9, 2010
Central Plains/Mississippi Valley: An area of mostly light to moderately dense smoke (small area of dense smoke) is moving east from the Central Plains into the Middle/Lower Mississippi Valley. The heaviest of this smoke extends across central Missouri (north to south) south into central Arkansas and into northern Louisiana. A small strip of dense smoke extends from central Missouri into northern Arkansas. Light smoke extends west of the moderately dense smoke across the eastern sections of the Central Plains into western sections of the Mississippi Valley. The smoke is associated with the numerous fires burning across the Central Plains yesterday. J Kibler THE FORMAT OF THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS BEING MODIFIED.
