DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

South Central US/Mid and Upper Mississippi Valley/Great Lakes Region/Ohio Valley: Apparent remnant smoke of thin density from yesterday's significant smoke producing fires across the South Central and Southeastern US was visible this morning in GOES-West imagery extending from eastern Oklahoma and northern Arkansas northward to the Upper Mississippi Valley. The remnant smoke then extended eastward around the upper level ridge axis across the western Great Lakes Region and southeastward toward the Ohio Valley. It is not known if the remnant smoke was present any farther to the southeast though the National Weather Service Air Quality Forecast Guidance product suggests it does cover a good portion of the Ohio and Tennessee Valley Region and the Southeast... http://www.nws.noaa.gov/aq/sectors/conus.php JS THE FORMAT OF THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS BEING MODIFIED.
