DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Gulf of Mexico: A broad area of Light to isolated moderate smoke from fires in Mexico covers much of the Gulf and Bay of Campeche and stretched northeastward along and ahead of a frontal boundary into the northeast Gulf. The area in the eastern Gulf amay also be mixed with blowing dust that originated from the Sahara. The smoke is from the numerous fires burning in the Yucatan and Guatemala. MS THE FORMAT OF THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS BEING MODIFIED. IT WILL NO LONGER DESCRIBE THE VARIOUS PLUMES THAT ARE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES.
