DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0300Z September 23, 2010
Mississippi Valley/Southeast: Multiple fires burning across parts of northeast Louisiana, western Mississippi, eastern Arkansas and southeast Missouri are producing mostly light smoke with small pockets of moderately dense. A large majority of these fires are agricultural in nature. Smoke is heading north from these fires. Also, A few small fires producing light smoke are burning across North Carolina, Georgia, Florida and Alabama. Northern Baja California: A large wildfire burning across the northern section of this region is producing moderately dense to dense smoke moving northeast into southern and central Arizona. This fire has been burning for the last couple of days. Western US: Multiple fires are burning across the central/northern California, eastern Oregon, Washington and western Idaho. Most of the smoke being produced is light with some pockets of moderately dense. J Kibler THE FORMAT OF THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS BEING MODIFIED.
