DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Most of the smoke observed this afternoon/evening was associated with active fires burning during this period. Texas/Louisiana/Oklahoma: Numerous fires were burning across south and east Texas, eastern Oklahoma and western Louisiana. The most prominent smoke with these fires was seen over southwest and west central Louisiana, east Texas and southeast Oklahoma. Most of this smoke was moving to the north or northwest, except for the smoke along the southwest Louisiana coast which was moving to the west and southwest. North Carolina into Florida: Numerous fires with mainly small, thin smoke plumes were seen across the region. Ruminski Previous narrative from earlier today: Gulf of Mexico: A narrow band of light remnant smoke was seen this morning moving southwest along the southwest Louisiana and Texas coastline. Another patch of light remnant smoke was seen moving west into the Gulf of Mexico off west coast Florida. These areas of smoke can be attributed to the fires burning this past week across southeast and south central US. East Coast US: An area of light smoke was seen extending from Cape Hatteras northeast to off the coast of Long Island. The smoke was moving north-northeast and is remnant smoke from this weeks numerous fires burning across much of southeast US. Earle THE FORMAT OF THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS BEING MODIFIED.
