DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1645Z March 14, 2011
Southeast Atlantic Coast to Mid-Atlantic Coast: A patch of light smoke was observed in this morning's satellite imagery stretching from coastal Georgia, S. Carolina and N. Carolina northeast into the Atlantic Ocean. This area of smoke is moving northeast and is remnant from mostly agricultural fires over the southeast and central plains the past couple days. Note that the eastern edge of our JPEG and GIS maps is about 73W so the full extent of the smoke is not displayed. Florida Keys: An area of remnant light smoke was seen moving west to northwest across the Florida Keys and into the Gulf of Mexico in early morning satellite imagery. This area of smoke is likely from numerous fires burning across the Bahamas the last several days. Earle THE FORMAT OF THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS BEING MODIFIED.
