DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1645Z March 22, 2011
Southeast Coast: A large area of light to moderate smoke can be seen moving off the coast of Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. Last night's analysis showed numerous fires producing smoke through the lower Mississippi valley and into the southeastern US. The smoke observed in this morning's satellite imagery is most likely residual smoke from yesterday's fires. New Mexico/Panhandle of Texas: There is an elongated area that is likely blowing dust moving eastward through eastern New Mexico and into the Panhandle of Texas. Gusty winds today would be the cause of the blowing dust in that region. Belge THE FORMAT OF THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS BEING MODIFIED.
