DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

New Mexico: An area of blowing dust was seen this evening originating from the White Sands National Monument area in New Mexico and was moving toward the northeast. The blowing dust started at about 2145Z and continued through sunset. Earlier Today: Due to cloudiness across the Central Plains and Gulf Coast states, smoke detection has been limited this morning in visible satellite imagery. Gulf of Mexico and East Coast: Remnant light to moderately dense smoke from Central America and Mexico continues to move into the western and central Gulf of Mexico. This smoke also extends across the northern Gulf and along the frontal boundary along the East Coast. Earle/Myrga THE FORMAT OF THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS BEING MODIFIED. IT WILL NO LONGER DESCRIBE THE VARIOUS PLUMES THAT ARE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES.
