DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Central US: An area of light to moderately dense smoke can be seen over the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles and central Kansas. The smoke is moving to the northeast and remnant smoke from the fires in New Mexico and northern Mexico. US East Coast: Light smoke can be seen extending from Northern North Carolina south to central Florida. Within this large area of light smoke are more dense areas. A large area of moderately dense to dense smoke from the Honey Prarie fire in southern Georgia is off the coast of central Florida and extends eastward skirting the eastern shore of the Bahamas. A thin ribbon of moderately dense to dense smoke from the Pains Bay fire in northern North Carolina trails along the US coast line to the North/South Carolina border where is turns to the east. -Salemi THE FORMAT OF THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS BEING MODIFIED. IT WILL NO LONGER DESCRIBE THE VARIOUS PLUMES THAT ARE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES.
