The smoke extends from the Mississippi Valley well into the Atlantic and northern Gulf of Mexico. Central US/Canada: The large fire in Alberta, southwest of Lake Athabasca continues to emit moderately dense to dense smoke. The dense smoke extends east-west from the point source, effecting British Columbia and Saskatchewan. Moderately dense and light smoke are traveling to the south through Saskatchewan into the US states of Montana and North Dakota where it becomes obscured by clouds. Alaska: Light to moderately dense smoke covers central Alaska and is traveling east into Yukon and Northwest Territories. -Salemi THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS.
