Eastern US: A line of moderately dense smoke is following the front from central Michigan, south through Indiana and Illinois where it appears to break from the front and continue south through Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana and into the Gulf of Mexico. East of this moderately dense smoke is light smoke which continues across the eastern US out over the Atlantic. This smoke is likely from wildfires in northern Canada and New Mexico. There is an area of moderately dense smoke in southern Georgia/northern Florida from the Honey Prairie fire and another area of moderately dense smoke in central North Carolina from the Juniper Road fire. New Mexico: The Wallow fire in northern New Mexico continues to emit moderately dense to dense smoke. This smoke is moving to the southeast reaching the panhandles of Oklahoma and Texas. Fires near the Lincoln County/Otero County border are generating light to moderately dense smoke which is moving to the northwest. Canada: Remnant light smoke from earlier today continues to move east and can still be seen in eastern Manitoba and western Ontario. Earlier Today: Canada: Light smoke was seen extending from the Yukon Territory, southeast through Northwest Territories, northern Alberta, northern Saskatchewan and ending in Manitoba. The smoke is moving east and is likely from fires in the Yukon Territory and northern Alberta. -Salemi THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS.
