Central California: The Lion wildfire in Tulare County, CA is producing thin to moderate density smoke that stretches east just into Nevada. Ohio River Valley and surrounding area: Broad areas of thin density remnant smoke are visible near the Wisconsin-Iowa-Illinois border and also in southern Ohio, southwest Pennsylvania, and much of West Virginia. This smoke could be from wildfires in Canada or from the several smaller burns over the central plains. Ontario: Large fires continue to burn in western and central Ontario this evening, but considerable cloudiness has prevented the immediate detection of smoke. An area of thin density remnant smoke is visible in south central Manitoba along the US/Canada border that extends into northeast North Dakota. This smoke has likely originated from the wildfires in Ontario. Northwest Territories/Western Nunavut: Remnant smoke appears to be confined to 2 areas; Directly north of Great Slave Lake and directly east of Great Bear Lake. Both locations contain large wildfires that are the source of the smoke. Moderate density smoke extends from the east of Great Bear Lake northeast into extreme northwest Nunavut.
