DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Northern Plains/southeast Saskatchewan/southwest Manitoba: A light area of residual smoke from the fires in Montana/Idaho was seen drifting east across the eastern Dakotas into western Minnesota and through south central Canada. The smoke has become quite diffuse and the exact extent is difficult to determine. Montana/Idaho/Wyoming: Numerous wildfires exploded this afternoon/evening across northern Wyoming, southern and western Montana and northern Idaho. This has spread plumes of thick smoke eastward across the area reaching into western South Dakota, northeast Colorado and western Nebraska. Southern California and Baja Mexico: Several fires over southern California and in northern Baja generated plumes of mainly light smoke. The smoke in southern California was moving mostly to the northeast while the smoke in Baja was drifting top the southeast. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
