DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Northern & Central Plains/southeast Saskatchewan/southwest Manitoba: A large area of remnant smoke from wildfires burning across Northwest U.S./northern Rocky Mountains is seen tracking to the southeast across much of the northern and central Plains. Thick, dense smoke extends from southeast Montana/southwest North Dakota to western South Dakota and portions of eastern Wyoming. A smaller plume of dense smoke is seen across northern North Dakota. Moderately-dense smoke is seen over eastern Montana/eastern Wyoming/nearly all of North and South Dakota/southeastern Saskatchewan/southwestern Manitoba and beginning to reach northwest Nebraska as it tracks to the southeast. Warren THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
