THROUGH 1500Z October 2, 2011
Central Plains: Two elongated thin remnant smoke plumes were seen in this morning's visible satellite imagery with one extended from central Kansas into south-central Nebraska. The second area extends across portions of north-central Nebraska, over central South Dakota and into portions of south-central North Dakota. Origin of remnant smoke is believed to be from several fires that were seen burning and emitting smoke plumes yesterday across portions of Kansas and Nebraska. Ontario: An area of remnant thin smoke and other unknown aerosols is seen tracking eastward across portions of southern and central Ontario. Origin of remnant smoke may be from wildfires burning across east-central Saskatchewan/west-central Manitoba.
