DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Northeast US: A thin area of aerosol could be seen over the northwest Atlantic stretching from just east of Delaware/Maryland northeastward to a point southeast of Nova Scotia. The entire composition and origin of the aerosol plume is not known but it may contain some remnant smoke from a group of fires that were burning in southern New Jersey yesterday. Sheffler THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
