DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Gulf of Mexico/Southeast US: Several areas of remnant smoke were present across the Northern and eastern Gulf of Mexico. Some of the smoke near Florida was thin to moderately dense. Nearly all of this smoke is believed to be from the large wildfire along the Baker/Columbia county border in northern Florida with a smaller portion being from general fires that have been producing smoke this afternoon across the southeast and Gulf States. An area of remnant smoke is also present moving eastward off the east coast of Florida as well which is also mostly from the large fire along the Baker/Columbia county border which continues to burn. Liddick THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
