DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Northwest and Western Mexico: Area of remnant thin smoke observed across southern Sonora, southwest Chihuahua, Sinaloa, western Durango states of Mexico. Smoke was seen tracking south and west across the southern half of the Gulf of California. Southern Manitoba/Southwest Ontario: Thin density aerosol seen across portions of southern Manitoba and southwestern Ontario provinces of south-central Canada. Aerosol is believed to be remnant dust from Asia. California: Two areas of unknown aerosols were seen in this evening's GOES-EAST satellite imagery over portions of central and southern California. One is seen drifting slowly eastward across much of the San Joaquin Valley. The other plume is slowly moving eastward across southeast Los Angeles, southwest San Bernardino, Orange, and western Riverside counties. Warren THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
