DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Gulf of California: Remnant smoke from agricultural fires in Sinaloa,Nayarit, western Durango and southern Chihuahua (Mexico) continues to move across the Gulf of California in a northwesterly motion. The smoke has become moderately dense as it banked up along the spine of mountains in Baja California Sur but thin smoke has already climbed over the mountains and is moving into the Pacific near the Baja and Baja Sur state line. Great Lakes: An aerosol, which is believed to be Asian dust, can be seen in advance of cyclone over the upper Midwest/Western Great Lakes covering Lake Superior, N Lake Michigan, all of the LP of Michigan and eastern UP, moving into Ontario and over Lake Huron. Further dust is possible within the cloud covered region of the aforementioned cyclone. Gallina THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
