DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Gulf of California/Desert Southwest: Remnant smoke from agricultural and wildfires in Sinaloa, western Durango, Nyarit and southern Senora over the past few days drifted northwest but has begun to shift toward the north and east slowly only covering far eastern coastal Baja California (Norte). The thin smoke extends north into Imperial county, California and the low deserts of SW AZ, covering the eastern half of the Gulf of California and nearly all of Sonara and Sinaloa to the spine of the Sierra Madre Occidental. Gallina THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
