THROUGH 1700Z June 9, 2012

Central United States:
Remnant smoke from the Cow Camp fire in Albany County, WY moved through
eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota this morning. Much of the
denser smoke dissipated by 09/1700Z. A large area of remnant smoke and
other haze covered much of the Midwest from Iowa to Texas.

New Mexico/Texas:
The Little Bear fire in Lincoln County, NM produced a large area of dense
smoke last night and through the morning hours. By 09/1700Z, the heaviest
smoke crossed into Texas and was approaching Lubbock and Amarillo.
The Whitewater-Baldy fire also continued to produce eastward moving smoke.

Canada:
Even though heavy cloud cover was present, remnant smoke was viewed this
morning over northern Alberta. Numerous fires have been burning across
this area the last few days.
