DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Much of the US: Copious amounts of remnant smoke could be seen across Wyoming, northern Colorado, and Montana extending eastward across the remainder of the US this morning. Within the expansive coverage of smoke was a fairly large area of moderate-to-dense smoke that can be tied back to the many wildfires burning in Colorado/Wyoming/Montana. This thicker-type smoke was very apparent over the northern Rockies into Montana moving mainly eastward into the northern and central plains. Further east, thin-density smoke could be seen stretching over the remainder of the eastern US seaboard into the Atlantic Ocean and then lifting northeast across Nova Scotia. Nunavut: An area of thin-density smoke could be seen across Nunavut. This smoke is likely remnant smoke from wildfires that have been burning in far Northwestern Canada and got embedded in the upper level flow.
