DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1745Z July 13, 2012

Canada:
Heavy patches of southward moving remnant smoke remained over Alberta
and Saskatchewan this morning. The smoke is from the numerous wildfires
burning in northern Alberta.

A ribbon of remnant smoke, approximately 120 kilometers in width,
extended from St. Johns westward to the Hudson Bay. Cloud cover
prevented detection of all of the remnant smoke. This is likely from
the fires burning in Alberta.

United States:
A ribbon of remnant smoke, approximately 100 kilometers in width,
extended from central Michigan eastward to southern New Hampshire/Maine.
This is likely from the fires burning in Alberta.
