Pacific Northwest: An impressive swath of moderate-to-thick density smoke was visible stretching across Vancouver Island, Washington, eastern Oregon, and Idaho this morning. The thickest area of smoke expanded mainly southward from the Wenatchee Complex in east-central Washington. Remnant light smoke from the ongoing wildfires in the Pacific Northwest region expanded across the central and southern plains and into the western portions of the Tennessee Valley ahead of the surface cold front. Alberta: A small patch of light remnant smoke could be seen over Alberta this morning. This smoke is likely due to the fires located in northern British Columbia and Alberta and is dropping southward. -Vogt THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS.
