DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Eastern US: An area of very light mixed aerosols is wrapped around the southern and east side of the upper low moving out of the great lakes region. The area stretched from the FL panhandle and through coastal Georgia, North and South Carolina and continues up the coast through the Delmarva Peninsula and into Long Island. The area is likely mostly remnant smoke from fires in the southwest US as well as some other aerosols including some remnant dust from the central US this past week. Liddick THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
