DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0300Z November 2, 2012

South Central/Southeastern US:
Numerous fires and individual smoke plumes were analyzed across the
region during the day.

Northern Plains:
A large concentration of seasonal fires was seen today across the eastern
Dakotas and western Minnesota. However, cloudiness significantly limited
smoke detection in this region.

JS

Earlier This Morning...
New Mexico:
An area of light, remnant smoke can be seen moving eastward through
north/central New Mexico this morning and early afternoon per GOES
imagery. This is likely from the numerous smoke producing fires that were
observed yesterday across central Arizona and southern/western New Mexico.
