DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0230Z November 3, 2012
Central Gulf Coast: The area of remnant thin density smoke seen earlier this morning over the northern Gulf of Mexico, drifted farther to the east during the day and was situated over the northeastern Gulf of Mexico as well as portions of the Florida panhandle. This leftover smoke is likely due to the numerous agricultural burns located across the South Central and Southeastern US during the past few days. JS THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
