DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1700Z December 15, 2012
There were no areas of remnant or detached smoke detected in satellite imagery this morning. An area of light remnant blowing dust seen extending off the coast of Texas into the western Gulf of Mexico. The full extent of the dust was difficult to ascertain because of clouds in the area but it seemed to extend roughly 100 miles off nearly the full length of the coast Ruminski THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
