Florida: A plume of light smoke was seen moving to the west across the Tampa/St Petersburg area and into the eastern Gulf of Mexico. The source was a fire at a metal recycling plant on the northeast shore of Hillsborough Bay. Blowing Dust/Sand over West Texas: An area of very light aerosol, likely blowing dust, was detected this morning over an area of West Texas extending from near Midland to San Angelo. A narrow fresh dust plume was also seen this morning being generated from strong winds ahead of a cold front dropping south from the Texas Panhandle. The plume was originating from a dry lake bed in northeast Gaines county Texas between Seminole and Lamesa and extended to the east southeast toward Big Spring.
