DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Blowing Dust/Sand Eastern Texas: A large area of blowing dust/sand originating from northern Mexico/just east of Big Bend, Texas could be seen in satellite imagery this morning and early afternoon. This is moving towards the east and into portions of eastern Texas as gusty northwesterly winds continue across the region. Western Texas: Another area of blowing dust/sand further west towards Pecos, Texas could be seen in early afternoon satellite imagery moving towards the southeast. Belge THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
