Western Gulf of Mexico: An area of light remnant smoke could be seen this morning across the western portion of the Gulf of Mexico. This smoke stems from the many agricultural burns that have been occurring in Mexico and moving north/northeastward through the Gulf. Some haze or possible dust aerosols could also been seen along the Gulf coastline, just ahead of the surface cold front, intermixing with the area of smoke moving northward. Florida/Carolinas: An area of light remnant smoke was visible along the northeastern Florida/Carolinas coastline. This area of smoke, likely from the plethora of agricultural fires that were burning across the southeastern US, is moving eastward into the Atlantic ahead of the low pressure system. -Vogt- THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS.
