North America: Per previous discussion...various areas of smoke remain this evening across much of central North America and Eastern Canada and into the northern Atlantic from various agricultural and wild fires in the central US plains and central/eastern Canada over the past several days. Central Canada: Fires in northern and new fires in central Manitoba are producing heavy smoke that is moving northeast, around the low pressure system along the Saskatchewan/Northwest Territories border, towards Hudson Bay. Liddick Previous discussion: Northeast Canada: A long stream of light to moderately dense smoke extends from western Quebec northeast through Labrador into the northern Atlantic. North America: Various areas of smoke are seen throughout North America. It is likely that these areas are all connected but the presence of weather clouds inhibits full detection. Smoke can be seen over northwestern Alaska, Alberta/Saskatchewan/Manitoba, Nunavut/Hudson Bay and a larger area that extends from James Bay over the Great Lakes through the Midwest south into northern Texas and Louisiana. -Salemi THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS.
