DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Smoke: Canada: A large area of medium density remnant smoke is visible around the Manitoba and Nunavut border. The smoke originates from the wildfires located in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and SE Northwest Territories and is moving NE towards Hudson Bay. A larger area of medium density smoke is caught up in Northern Quebec and is moving SW along with a storm in the area. Northern Nunavut to southern Manitoba is covered in light density smoke from these fires as well. Western US: A large area of light to medium density smoke is visible in the western US states of California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. The medium smoke is most concentrated in Montana, as it mixes with some remnant smoke from Canadian wildfires which traveled from the north earlier in the day. The smoke originates from wildfires taking place in all of these states and is moving eastward. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
